The wait is finally over. From Monday, June 29th, NDTV Imagine will play host to bride-to-be Rakhi Sawant and 1 groom out of 16 potential grooms will be selected and the entire show  will be on air from Monday to Friday at 9.00pm only on NDTV Imagine.

Rakhi Sawant, the bride-to-be is eagerly looking forward to get on with the auditions for her prospective grooms.
This lovely idea of settling down with a right guy by conducting a Swayamvar on NDTV Imagine struck to her after seeing the character of the lead in NDTV Imagine show Dehleez, Preeti Gidwani. In a unique, first of its kind experience on television, NDTV Imagine presents a new reality show that traces the journey of a bride-to-be, from selecting her groom to the marriage ceremony, all captured on television In a move that is true to her expressive personality.

This is the first time any celebrity will be choosing her life partner and performing her wedding rituals on a reality show. Rakhi Ka Swayamvar is a brand new concept. Rakhi is taking matters of the heart into her own hands with a nationwide search for her perfect husband along with the support of the audiences. After exhaustive challenges and eliminations, Rakhi will take the saath-pheras with her husband in a grand ceremony that will be a fitting finale to this unique journey, and everyone is invited. The show promises to reveal a seldom-seen side of Rakhi and also provide an insightful glimpse of a roller coaster ride of emotions and tribulations. The ultimate selection of the groom will be made by Rakhi herself with the active help and participation of the audiences. Rakhi Sawant considers common people and her fans very important and lucky as she gives full credit to them for all the fame which she has earned till date and she wants their support while making the most important decision of her life.

Sixteen prospective grooms finally has been short-listed from across the length and breadth of the country through an extensive all-media audition process.These grooms are Kapil Mathur , Luv Khanna, Manas Katyal, Pranav Damle, Ather Parvez Mallik, Ashwin Choudhari, Deepak Raghav, Chitiz Jain, Elesh Parujanwala, Manmohan Tiwari, Ali Bana, Raj Kripal Singh, Aman Talwar, Rishi Dwivedi, Atirek Sharma and Raman Handa. ed.

Over the duration of the show, the prospective grooms will be brought together under one roof and put through a series of challenges that have been created keeping in mind the criteria identified by Rakhi herself. Each week, the grooms will be put through tasks that will test their personality, character, physical fitness, talent and also their compatibility with Rakhi, all in an endeavour to demonstrate their love for Rakhi.. And eventually Rakhi will tie the knot with one lucky guy in a grand ceremony that will be a fitting finale to this unique voyage. Additionally, Rakhi will be joined by a host of her celebrity friends for certain tasks, who will help her make her decision. In keeping with tradition, Rakhi will also visit the homes of the prospective grooms to get to know their families better. All through the series, viewers will help Rakhi decide, by voting for or against the prospective bridegrooms.

The final week will present the wedding celebrations in all its glory from the Mehendi to the Sangeet and culminating in a real-life wedding for Rakhi with the groom that she has chosen. All of these exciting events will be captured exclusively on Imagine.

The beautiful Fatehgarh Palace and the city of Udaipur is the perfect backdrop to the show. Known for its splendid palaces and timeless tales of love and valour, Udaipur is the host city for Rakhi’s Swayamvar. It seems Rakhi’s dream is to get married like a princess is getting fullfilled. The show has some very exciting elements and is sure to capture the imagination of audiences as Rakhi begins her special journey of finding her life partner.�

Hosting this unique show is one of television’s most well known actor ‘Ram Kapoor’. In a never seen avtaar, Mr. Kapoor will take on a whole new role as the host on Rakhi Ka Swayamvar. Apart from hosting the show, Ram will multi-task as Rakhi’s friend, philosopher and guide. Additionally Rakhi’s celebrity friends will also come on the show and help in making the right decision.

As she begins this exciting journey, Rakhi says “I am very nervous and excited at the same time.
